Vicky Carr
Vicky Carr is a graphic designer based in Manchester, UK and a co-founder of Textbook Studio. After graduating from university Vicky and her close friend Chris Shearston, who is also a graphic designer, worked collaboratively to manage a graphic design company, Lost in the Forest Studio. She didn’t want a regular design job and enjoyed the aspect of managing a studio of designers and working in a collaborative environment. This inspired the creation of Textbook Studio. Vicky and Chris decided to start their own business collaborating with eight other creatives that specialise in alternative area of design to broaden their creative processes.
Vicky is a strong advocate for risograph printing, experimenting with the possibilities of this method and encouraging people to use this as a cheap and effective printing medium. She also works with a lot of academic clients and enjoys working for social issues.
